Consider it pure joy my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 (NIV) You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way. Song of Solomon 4:7 (NLT) (Song of Songs) I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:12-13 (NIV) Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 (NIV) God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised those who love Him. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another. Colossians 3:10 ************************************************************************************* We must renew our minds daily so that we can be like Christ. We are not to see ourselves as defeated nor let fear be our perspective in life. We must look through the eyes of faith and see things the way God sees them. Instead of seeing only problems or crisis in our lives, we must see opportunities. If you only focus on your problems, you can't see God. Your problems become so big, that they are the only things you set your mind on. Instead, focus your gaze on God and let Him handle your problems for you. I have learned a great deal from pastors and teachers at my home church, Summit Christian Center and guest speakers, Casey Treat, Brian Houston, Ron Corzine, and others. Rick Godwin is doing a series on "Lord Help! I Need A Miracle!" which teaches us how to look through the eyes of faith and not fear. Sandy Ross, Pastor of Women of Excellence, is a powerful teacher who touches lives and has a great impact on women through her women's bible studies and summer bible studies. Her current summer bible study on renewing your mind teaches us how to just do that. The following summer series have helped me tremendously overcome fears, behaviors, and attitudes of the past. Through each one God has brought me from glory, to glory, and is constantly working on me to see myself in His image.
